We have a winner!

We have drawn a lucky winner who can look forward to getting a beautiful enamel sign from Ramsign.

On the Norwegian and English site a total of 111 tickets were taken. We used random.org to draw the winning ticket.

The lucky winner is - wait for it - a man! We don’t have many of those among our readers, so what are the odds? Thomas can expect a nice e-mail from Ramsign.
Congratulations to the winner and a big thank you to Ramsign for sponsoring our competition.

Give Away - Ramsign Classic Enamel Signs

Oh, you lucky people! I'm almost envious of you all, because you have the opportunity to win one of these beautiful classic enamel signs from the Danish manufacturer Ramsign.

These are genuine old fashioned, hand stencilled signs, featuring original design and thick glossy enamel.

The lucky winner gets to choose his or her favourite design.

To try your luck in this contest, you must go into Ramsign's website and pick your favourite design.
You'll get one ticket for leaving a comment, telling me which design you like best. You can have one more ticket for becoming a follower of the Hilltop House blog, and one more for linking to this Give Away from your own blog or from Facebook.
Remember to write in your comment how many tickets you want.

Anyone can participate in this contest, including those living outside Europe as Ramsign delivers worldwide. Of course you can also join if you do not have your own blog, just remember to enter your e-mail address so that I can reach you.

The deadline for participating in this contest is the 10th of March.

Good luck!

Mini Give Away

As I was standing by the kitchen sink drying cups earlier today, it struck me that since I am so happy with my tea towels I should probably blog about that. So here goes: I first came across tea towels from the Danish manufacturer Södahl some years ago and was so impressed with the quality that I have never bought anything else since. They seem to become softer and more effective each time they're washed.
A quick look in my linen cupboard revealed a few brand new towels, and that gave me an excuse to have a little Give Away here on the blog, and let some lucky winner sample the quality of these towels.

The prize is a white/green/pink tea towel made from 100 % cotton.
If many people join the contest, I might have to give away one more. We'll see. :-)

The rules are as usual: You'll get one entry for leaving a comment, one for following this blog and one for linking to this Give Away from your blog.

The final date is Friday the 12th of November.

Have a lovely Sunday!

And the winner is…

As they say on television, we’ll let you know after these messages.
This is the first time we have had a Give Away on the blog and we are quite overwhelmed by the response. On the Norwegian page 42 people left messages and took 174 lottery tickets. Surprisingly many Americans had found their way to the English page. We wondered how they all managed to find us. There were 65 comments and 105 tickets. All in all, that’s 279 tickets.

We would like to thank everybody for their nice comments and welcome all our new followers to Hilltop House. We had our Give Away to celebrate that out blog had received 2000 visits. Now, we’re getting on for 4000. Obviously, that’s not much compared to the some blogs, but we appreciate every single visit.

Before we were going to draw the winner, we were excited to see whether the prize would go to someone in Norway or travel across the Atlantic. Husfruen was appointed the task of making almost 300 lottery tickets (Thank God for Excel), while Hubby had the honour of drawing. When the winner was proclaimed I almost suspected him of tampering with the tickets because the prize went to his old hometown on the Arctic Circle. But the man assures me there was no foul play, which means we can congratulate Lise who has the lovely blog Fossestua.

I also thought it was very nice that the prize should go to Lise who leaves so many nice comments here on our blog. I am also a regular reader of her blog, so I can recommend it to everybody.

Congratulations Lise! We hope you will enjoy the prize and that you’ll have a nice scented time in the bathroom with the L’Occitane products.

Summer lottery

To celebrate 2000 visits to our blog, we would like to have a little lottery.

The prize you can win is a set of travel sized products from L'Occitane. They are perfectly sized to bring along on holiday, and the 30 ml bottles are also well suited for bringing on board as cabin luggage when you're flying.

The products are shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, bodylotion and a small bar of soap in the Verbena range. In addition, you'll get a bodyscrub and a lovely, luxurious wash cloth in a matching colour.

Here is how to get tickets:
  • One ticket for leaving a comment.
  • Two tickets for adding yourself as a follower.
  • Three tickets for linking to this lottery from your own blog.
All in all you may have six tickets.

You don't have to have a blog to participate. Just leave a comment as "Anonymous". But remember to write your e-mail address, so that I will be able to reach you if you win.

The prize will be drawn on the eight of August.

L'Occitane is one of my favourite brands and I have used their products for years. Obviously I like the scents and the lotions, but I also think their design is very stylish. I often bring along the little travel sized containers when I'm travelling, but I also like to put them out in the guest bathroom, so that our guests can have their own things to use while they are visiting.

Here is your chance to try L'Occitane for free. We hope many of you would like to join. :-)

Lovely prizes

I have been so lucky that I have won some beautiful things from Det lille huset med druehage - a lovely blog where Gro-Beate writes about her house and her garden with grape vines.
A little package came in the mailbox yesterday. Look, what a nice card and a cute little rose!

Inside there was a heart shaped lace pomander filled with lavender, two tiny glass bowls and a jar of scented white stones. Hubby thought they were mints and I just managed to stop him from popping one in his mouth. The poor man was completely dumbfounded when I yelled "No!!!" "I was just going to taste one..." he said unhappily. Being a man sure is difficult sometimes. :-)

After having duly admired everything (and convinced Hubby that I really wasn't trying to keep candy from him), I took it all out to the bathroom to find space for it.

The heart is on the wall over the toilet.

The jar and the glass bowls were placed on a white whicker chest of drawers. I had some small rose scented soaps that just fitted the bowls. Doesn't it look lovely?

In front are two sea shells that I brought home from Indonesia. They have little pink stripes that match the soaps. :-) In the basket I keep brushes and scrubs for the shower.

Behind is the sign that I won from Villa Klaraberg a few weeks ago. I think it all looks so lovely. Our otherwise dull bathroom now has a little idyllic still life that lifts my spirits every morning.
A big thank you to Gro-Beate for a lovely prize. I really appreciate it.

Soon I too will have a Give Away, where I will tempt you with travel sized  products from L'Occitane and other little goodies. So keep visiting!

I won, I won!

Wow, this must be beginner’s luck. I could hardly believe it when I heard that I had won first prize in Villa Klarabergs Give Away.

A pick-up slip came in the mail today and of course I rushed off to the Post Office to get it. I think Hubby was just as exited as me when we opened several presents. In an envelope there were two lovely iron-on pictures. I don’t quite know what to use these for yet but no doubt inspiration will come.

In the small package there was a doorstop, which will come in very handy because the door to our guestroom will not stay open by itself.

In the big package there was a perfectly lovely French metal sign, in the precise light shade of green that I am so fond of. Isn’t it beautiful?

I’m going to hang that in the bathroom, because nearly all my towels are green, so it’s going to be a perfect match.

This was such a nice and inspiring surprise. Thanks so much to Jorunn at Villa Klaraberg, which by the way is a lovely blog that deserves a visit.
